We're Green

Sapphire Technologies is committed to reducing the negative effects of climate change by taking action for the impact its business operations have on raising carbon emissions.

This commitment extends to incorporate Sapphire Technologies' wide reach where it promises to actively promote and encourage internal and external stakeholders so they too are able to implement environmentally-friendly practices.

These are just some of the steps Sapphire Technologies has taken so far to achieve these goals:

1. Installing water filter systems

Plastic bottles are guilty of causing a significant portion of unnecessary consumer waste. Though this type of plastic is typically recyclable, the environmental costs of producing the containers and labels as well transportation in their distribution are deep. Therefore, it is by far more effective to refill reusable bottles from a fixed water filter system.

2. Create green-friendly features in our newsletters

Sapphire Technologies has used its client and candidate newsletters as an effective platform to spread the word on reducing climate change. It will continue to promote this cause and encourage each of these audiences to adopt a similar philosophy.

3. Not in use? Switch it off!

The ICT industry is responsible for 1.52% of all carbon emissions. As its partner and long time supplier, Sapphire Technologies looks to reduce its own energy consumption through applying the following tactics:

Encouraging all staff to switch off personal computers when not in use, particularly overnight. Adjust heating and cooling systems to temperatures to 2 degrees less/more respectively. Install blinds to block out sun and thus reduce the need for air conditioning during summer.

4. Reducing paper waste

In an attempt to reduce unnecessary paper waste, Sapphire Technologies provides its clients and contractors with easy access to web-based timesheets, through Vedior Asia Pacific's online timesheet entry system, TESSA or alternately Sapphire Technologies' eTime.

Further, needless printing is discouraged and this will be promoted to all our email recipients. There are also recycle bins spread throughout each office to instil the important habit of thinking green.
