Alex Smith - Account Manager, Melbourne

Alex Smith joined Sapphire Technologies in March 2006 with eight years sales and recruitment experience across the United Kingdom and Spain. Alex quickly progressed into the role of Account Manager with Sapphire Technologies in Melbourne. We have a quick chat to Alex to find out more about his journey with Sapphire Technologies.

What was your role when you first started at Sapphire Technologies and what is your current role? Explain the journey.
I joined as an Account Manager and it was initially a steep learning curve due to my limited exposure to the ICT world. With the assistance of a great and very knowledgeable team around me, I have been able to make that step up and achieve success through their support and continual commitment in enabling me to fulfil my clients' requirements.

What has made you stay with Sapphire Technologies in your career so far?
People play a big part in Sapphire Technologies' success. I work with good people, that know when to work hard and also when to have a laugh and a joke. It's a hardworking, sometimes pressurised, but extremely enjoyable environment to work in. The team collaborates and communicates very well both professionally and on a social level.

Do you feel Sapphire Technologies encourages people to achieve their potential?
I think that Sapphire Technologies presents the opportunities to its staff to achieve their potential. There is a significant amount of training on offer to team members and there is a real importance placed on career development which I haven't found in previous organisations.
